This is a re-creation of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington D.C. at Legoland theme park in Florida. An animated marching band parades in front of the Capitol. This building is a part of the Miniland USA area of Legoland where America’s most celebrated cities are re-created with LEGO Bricks.
This picture is my contribution for Weekly Photo Challenge this week.
The U.S. Capitol’s dome made of cast iron was designed by Thomas U. Walter and constructed from 1855-1866. Finished at the total cost of $1,047,291, the Capitol Dome was constructed with 8,909,200 pounds of ironwork bolted together in a masterpiece of American will and ingenuity

Wow how great is that?! Lego used to hold a very big part of our household decor. Now a huge bin tucked away for small visitors.

I also thought the same but their Miniland area definitely has some amazing buildings created with Legos. I should come up with a post about it soon 🙂
